The key difference in a site like Consumer Search and the average person's ideas of creating a review site is they offer real, over the top, value in their reviews.
They go above and beyond to give real insights into the products and give you information you cannot find on Amazon.
They aren't just listing surface information that anyone could easily find on Amazon.
Or picking random products they know nothing about to "review" just to make an affiliate commission.
You have to be prepared to do this properly or your site won't offer any value to the end users (meaning they won't buy from you).
Amazon also may not approve or later ban your site.
And Google won't rank you, at least not for long, if you're a thin site with no value to their searchers.

Comparison sites like confused.com, gocompare.com, moneysavingexpert.com and many more have forever ranked highly in Google and are straight up affiliates...except they treat their affiliate sites like a genuine online business opportunity.
They just put a little more effort into their content than your standard affiliate site who is run by someone looking to make "easy money" or a "side hustle gig".

Or alternatively think of the demographics of the sort of people who buy these items and create niche blogs or authority sites around the products.
For example the fishing market is huge.
You can find a sub-niches within the market and give out hints and advice on fishing and review the best boats.
Talk about what's happening in the world of fishing (find out from sites and magazines) and promote boats as your high ticket item as well as smaller items along side them.
The home security niche is another great market to jump into.
Offer insights into how to better protect your home.
Review the latest technology, and talk about the fears these people have and how to resolve them (fear of their home being broken into, robbed, family attacked etc).
You can easily make a lot of affiliate sales and build a fullproof online business idea based around a hobby or passion.
As I mentioned earlier the renewable energy market is huge.
Create a niche blog or authority site within this niche (you can focus on renewable energy as a whole or niche down to focus on solar power only).
And talk about ways to generate your own power, save money on bills, live a green life and so on and you'll be able to sell solar panels and much more.

Hey Darryl, well you wouldn't try and promote all of these products on the one site as they are totally different niches so it would make no sense.
AMASuite among other things helps you find Amazon products with high price tags, certain amount of reviews, ratings etc - if you wanted to find some new products in a particular category then this would help you.

You need to check your email for the welcome email which has the link to get them.
In some cases the free gifts are actually on the success page depends on which opt in form you used.
If none of the above applies it may be that you're already on my mailing list already?

You provide some great tips here in some excellent niches that I would have to agree can be wildly profitable. However, I have been hesitant to work Amazon products into my site. I love that they provide a brand name that people trust, solid prices, extended user reviews, etc. However, the thing that I find wildly unfriendly for affiliates is their cookie settings. As I am sure you are well aware, the average user does not make a purchase the first time they view a product online. It can take up to 7 times before they actually pull the trigger and make the purchase. Amazon only provides it's affiliates with a 24 hour cookie. I've really never understood how some people have been so successful creating and promoting sites that are developed around Amazon products. Essentially, if my visitor follows a link to a product on Amazon and doesn't purchase within 24 hours, I just basically advertised that product for them for free, no? If in a few days or even a week, the same visitor goes directly back o Amazon, since it is a recognizable and easy site to remember, makes the purchase, then Amazon keeps 100% of the profits from that sale. Meanwhile, my initial review or article was responsible for peaking their interest and sending them to that product in the first place. I really can't stand that fact. I think Amazon owes a little more to it's affiliates than a 24 hour cookie that allows them to virtually steal a ton of business and sales, while receiving free advertising and promotions of their products.
What are your feelings about it? Right now, I continue to stick with private affiliate programs directly from the manufacturer and/or some of the affiliate networks. Sure, the commissions are also much higher from these programs, but more importantly, I don't feel like I am wasting my time by busting my hump to churn out content and generate traffic for better conversion rates because these programs offer a much longer life cycle for my affiliate link cookies. Some are even up to 45 days, which is awesome. The bottom line is one sale is nearly always going to result in more business for that company or future purchases of that product. It allows those companies to directly market for them and us affiliates are virtually building their lists for them. Is it really too much to ask for a generous or at least respectable time frame for our affiliate link cookies so we can at least get the credit for one sale? That's my two cents and I'm interesting in hearing your take on the matter. Thanks and all the best!

Yeah 24 hours isn't ideal but Amazon does convert like crazy so you can make a lot of money on the first visit
The guys making small Amazon review type sites get so much success with it because they target 'buyer keywords' in their content to target people who are close to making a purchase

If you've not got an amazon review style site you can still promote them simply by making sure you feature those products multiple times on your site / mailing list so people are continually exposed to it increasing your chance of making the same through re-exposure.
I don't think you should avoid Amazon all together. Many people make a generous living from it/

Anyone who guarantees that isn't being truthful to you.
With every online business method I know you have to put work into getting traffic and sales, it's not something that can really be done on autopilot.
There's plenty of posts on the blog about traffic if you use the search box you will find them.

Amazon starts at just 4% for most items. You need to sell quite a few items for the percentage to increase.
I don't know how they pick which products go on your site but it seems to me if your site is being delivered in a few days they must be picking them for you, no?

Hey Vinu,
You'll need to get your own hosting (HostGator cheap shared hosting is fine to begin with), a domain name (NameCheap.com) and from your hosting control panel install WordPress (they will have you instructions). Then install a theme and you're good to start blogging.

I'm looking at the zero turn mowers and there's more than one lawn mower and the reviews range and go up to around 20.
So there are people buying them.
It is estimated that per 100 purchases, only a few of them review, it may vary for high priced items like these.
So there are in fact people buying these machines.

the traffic is from google organic search. all the traffic is coming from buyer intent keywords. as I have reviewed the copy it looks good. explained everything. I think people are rarely buying these online. I searched through forums. asked people about is it good to buy a zero turn online. the answers I got is they advised me to go to near by dealer.

These are products that are still available and on sale. If you clicked on any of them, you'd see they are constantly bought as the reviews on them are all there and recent.
The article was published in 2014 but has been updated on a monthly basis.

Laptops and phones is ultra competitive and something all the big tech media giants (worth millions and with full teams of staff) are doing. You'd need to do something very different to stand out in that crowded market, a "more of the same" approach wouldn't work well in that area IME.
